Based in Historic Kimberton, PA, Green Pad Living manufactures and retails an all inclusive line of environmentally conscious body care products. Inspired by their children, Darren and Jacquellyne Hengst started the company because they were convinced that the chemicals being used in their childrens’ “all natural” baby care products were not exactly a direct offshoot of Mother Nature herself. Having 3 children with chemical sensitivities, Darren and Jacquellyne are highly aware of how fast chemicals can penetrate the skin and enter the body. So, if their children were using it, they wanted it to be ultra-pure and clean. Committing to this purity, they developed a line of body care products that contain freshly ground organic herbs as well as pure essential oils. Because of their special interest in Autistic Support, they adapted their body care line to be Autism friendly, and went as far to make everything Gluten and Dairy Free, as well as avoiding the use of Soy. You will also find only plant based dyes with NO pigments or micas used in their products, as these are typically used for brighter coloring, and may contain traces of metals.
Sourcing their raw materials responsibly and as locally as possible is a priority for Green Pad Living. So much so, that they started an eco-friendly furniture line consisting primarily of reclaimed furniture pieces. While Jacquellyne runs the body care division, Darren spends his time salvaging furniture and bringing it to life again through the process of sanding it down to the original wood. Then he paints them using only no VOC paints and finishes, which do not off-gas toxic chemicals. He also builds custom pieces made from the wood of locally fallen trees and salvaged factory beams.
By purchasing products that are totally Pure, Sustainable, Reclaimed, Organic, Recyclable, and Free of toxic chemicals, we are all participating in reversing the deterioration of our environment as well as our physical bodies. It is a choice we can make for ourselves and our family that is so simple. Just say “yes!”
